Welcome
WELCOME TO RISING STAR FITNESS!
Personal training and online fitness coaching
My name is Amy Stebbins. I am an ISSA certified fitness trainer, and founder of Rising Star Fitness. Being healthy and fit is my passion in life, and I love sharing this passion with others, by helping them to achieve their fitness goals and dreams. I am also a very busy mother of two children (a two year old boy and 10 year old girl) cross country skier, Hockey lover, and passionate photographer.
Now for a little Q&A:
WHAT IS MY TRAINING APPROACH?
.. I use a holistic approach when training my clients. It is my belief that one can not be completely fit without incorporating the mind as well as the body, then rounding it all out with a healthy nutrition program. My clients not only look great, but they FEEL great!
I do not believe in extremes. In other words, I do not suggest weird supplements, fad diets (that word is just not used here!) or anything that would cause the body to function in an incorrect manner. Felling deprived is not something that my clients or I can relate to.
I encourage my clients to find activities that will bring them happiness and satisfaction when training for fitness (and in life!).Together we try various new activities, and as we journey through this process, we never cease to discover something new about ourselves. It is always fun surprising yourself with the hidden talents that you have always had, but did not know existed before!
WHAT TYPES TO TRAINING DO I ENCORPORATE IN MY PROGRAMS?
The sky's the limit! Let me just put it to you this way, I am not big on boredom. I like to constantly challenge my clients, with new programs and activities.
We start with a base of resistance (anaerobic) training (training with weights) Cardio Vascular training (aerobic training) and various stretching techniques. We then expand from this base, to include training for your activity of choice (i.e. tennis, swimming, trekking, dance, hockey etc). I also encourage training the mind with games, reading and word challenges after all if you don't use it you lose it! As we age this becomes much more important.
I also encourage meditation, prayer, or what ever spiritual path that interests you. I can not stress enough, how very important it is to feed your soul. Happiness is a big part of being healthy. Like I said before, it is our goal to be completely fit!
Variety is the spice of life! I am big on adventure; I like to try new things. Together we will find that special active pursuit in your life that will make you look forward to each day of training. For me, that pursuit is cross country skiing, what will it be for you? Let's find out shall we!
WHAT ABOUT NUTRITION?
I can not stress enough how important it is to choose carefully what you eat, in order to fuel your body. After all, that is all food is-fuel. This fuel is what keeps our internal organs running smoothly and our skin, eyes and hair glowing from within. It is also the thing that enables us to train at optimal levels. My clients learn to read labels carefully, and to “eat clean.â€
Let's think about this for a minute. Your body is like an engine to a car. If you put diesel in an unleaded engine, does the car run optimally? I think not. The Wrong fuel makes for bad performance.
AM I TOO OLD TO TRAIN??
You are never too old, or too young to be fit. There is something for everyone, and I can show you how.
HOW DO I BECOME A CLIENT?
Well that is easy! Just contact me at Amy@risingstarfitness.com, and express your needs. I can train with you in person, or through online coaching. No matter what way you choose, I can find a program to suit your needs that you will be happy with.
I look forward to each day, and working with all of you! I can not tell you how excited I am to be sharing the gift of fitness and health with all that I meet.
Thank you for joining me today, and feel free to email me with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Amy Stebbins
