FALL STARTS THIS SUNDAY...PIGGING OUT CAUSES CIRRHOSIS

FALL THIS SUNDAY!!Laughing

I am so excited! my favorite season is about to begin!

I love how the weather is so crisp...it is raining outside right now as I type this!

My kids and I just ate a bowl of my chicken noodle soup, and I am snug as a bug in a rug in my cozy sweater!

ALAS....Don't let the coming holidays throw you off track in your healthy eating and exercise routine! NEVER USE WEATHER AS AN EXCUSE TO NOT EXERCISE! it is just not allowed! no matter where you live in the world, there is always a way to stay in shape.

It cracks me up when people complain about snow...when it snows I slap on the skinny skis or a pair of hockey skates and go! THERE IS NO EXCUSE! Don't want to go out in the cold?? PUT ON A VIDEO AND MOVE or use your trusty home exercise equipment!

I actually feel more active in fall and winter, than any other time of year. I guess it is just my europen roots shining throughWink

So as for eating.....just eat clean every day...and when a special occasion or party comes up, eat SUPER clean that day (stick to extra lean protiens, fruits and veggies and skip the dressings instead opt for lemon juice), and then when you get to your party ENJOY YOURSELF!! eat correct portions and don't go overboard! just make sure that the next day you do a good cardio session, and get right back to eating clean.

Have fun this holiday season...just be smart about it!

I will be posting part 2 of my family tradition recipes this evening. So peek to see if they are up in the recipe section.

Now....speaking of party food...here is something you should know....this is why we DO NOT eat "party style" every day.....check it out....

PIGGING OUT CAUSES CIRRHOSIS OF THE LIVER!!

Yes! it is true! and you thought only alcoholics had to worry...

not so!

Physicians around the world are reporting an alarming increase in the incidence of cirrhosis of the liver in obese people who overeat.

many of these patients do not over consume alcohol. Obesity is becoming the number one cause of liver disease!

unfortunately, people may be without symptoms until they have advanced liver failure.

As many as 10% of Americans have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease caused by obesity and overeating.

Other causes of liver disease include alcoholism and hepatitis, but these PALE IN COMPARISON to obesity! (this shocked me!)

So give your body and your liver a long and happy life..don't take in excessive calories, and maintain a healthy normal weight!

Stay healthy and happy and have a great day!

ABDOMINAL FAT and FALL

WEIGHT TRAINING = ABDOMINAL FAT USE

It was once believed that weight training was not valuable for cutting body fat. In the 1970’s and 80’s, health experts pushed aerobics and didn’t think resistance exercise promoted health! (How clueless could they be?)

Studies during the past 10 years found that weight training builds muscle, improves cellular health and promotes FAT LOSS!

Weight training increases fat use in the abdominal area, and for at least 40 minutes AFTER weight training.

Weight training prevents fat gain and improves body composition by increasing caloric consumption, promoting abdominal fat breakdown, and boosting whole body fat use. Weight training is a proven fat fighter that works even better when combined with aerobic exercise!

My suggestion is to lift weights first, and then follow with at least 20 minutes of cardio. Include with this, a healthy nutrition program, and VOILA!! You have the magic combo for a beautiful and healthy body, and long life.

FALL IS HERE

Well it is official…I can feel a change in the air where I live.

I just came back from the east coast, and upon my return, the weather has changed quite a bit.

It is no longer HOT during the day, but pleasant. I actually slept with my comforter on the bed, and I have the urge to switch my training routine up a bit!

The foods I crave are more of the “home cooking” variety…more stews and soups (low fat and healthy of course!) and I want to sit with my family at the table and just talk and enjoy.

This is the time of year I love most. It is a time of the harvest, of friends and family, and of holidays!

Soon the fall will make way for winter…and hopefully LOT’S of SNOW!!

I can actually work out with my husband in the afternoon’s now, and not feel like I am in a sauna.

I feel energized during this time of year…I feel excited and alive! I love the chill in the air!

Hopefully this season, I will hear more from all of you out there…PLEASE SHARE! Let me know what you would like to see on this web page! PLEASE GIVE SUGGESTIONS! That is the only way I will know what you all really want to know about!

Please also share with me suggestions for recipes…it DOES NOT MATTER if you think the recipe is too high in calories or fat…I can change that! I would LOVE to come up with lower calorie versions of your favorites! That is what I am here for.

SO PLEASE…DON”T BE SHY! Speak up! And send your suggestions and recipes! Got a question…then just ask!!

Oceans of love to you all!

Amy
