IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN....

GUESS WHAT??

IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

That certain time of year that strikes fear in the hearts of women (and men!) all over the land….

It’s the time of year which sends women screaming in terror from the ugly fluorescent light of dressing rooms everywhere….

The time of year that makes one squirm at the word “CELLULITE” (men get it too, and on their stomachs usually!)

Yes ladies and gentlemen I am talking about…..

                                                   SWIMSUIT SEASON!!!

But fear not!!!

There is no reason to worry….

That’s why I am here!

You can have that beach body you have always wanted!

Here are a few tips that will help you to get in tip top shape for summer J

TIP #1 EAT CLEAN

Yes….you have heard me say it time and again…EAT CLEAN!

This is not a hard thing to do, but YOU DO NEED THE DESIRE AND THE FIRE!

Desire, meaning the desire to reach your goals of a firm healthy body.

And the fire, (motivation) to put these goals into action.

It is really quite simple. You must watch and control EVERYTHING you put in your mouth.

50% of your plate should come from vegetables and fruits. ¼ should come from lean protein and the other ¼ from whole grains.

Only eat healthy fats, like a ¼ of an avocado, a tiny handful of walnuts or almonds or a couple teaspoons of flax oil or olive oil (Udo oil is a great choice too)

Remember to control those portions!!!! To make it easy for you, here are some simple visuals to remember:

TIP #2 COMBINE CARDIO AND WEIGHT TRAINING

You just have to do both if you want to get there faster, and if you want to keep the fat off!!

RUN…it is free and VERY effective! It really works your butt, thighs and those lower abs!

My advice for those of you who have drooping buns, or your six packs don’t pop; work your problem areas twice a week.

Make sure there is adequate rest in between workouts. Exp:If you work your legs on Monday, don’t work them again until Thursday.

Make sure to do cardio 5 to 6 times a week. Cardio workouts should last at LEAST 30 minutes.

TIP# 3 DRINK LOT’S OF WATER

Drinking plenty of water ensures a clean and beautiful complexion. Throw away all soda, and sugar filled juices. Replace these with lots of clean pure water.

If you want to add some flavor, just add fresh slices of lemon or mint! Delicious and so refreshing. You also want to limit the caffeine. If you have to have coffee, have A CUP in the morning without the cream. Use skim milk to create your own latte, and if you want a tad of sweet, use stevia or other NATURAL zero calorie sweetener.

Water flushes toxins out of the body. This is so important to keep our body processes in top form.

TIP# 4 SKIN BRUSH

Skin brushing has been practiced in Europe for years. Not only does it exfoliate and stimulate the skin, it also helps with lymph drainage, which also aids in flushing toxins from the body.

I like to practice skin brushing in the morning before working out, or before bed followed by a shower and a good moisturizer.

TIP# 4 YOGA AND PILATES

I practice yoga and Pilates every week in addition to my regular workouts.

Not only do they keep me injury free, they also stimulate the body, and help with toxin elimination. I usually do Pilates for abs and butt twice a week and then yoga three times a week.

I feel so relaxed when I am done…it is just such a great feeling!

I hope these tips inspire you to step up your workout program. Nothing feels as good as looking your best, while walking down the beach! Turn some heads this season…get that beach body you have always wanted J

BUSY IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT, A HEALTHY VALENTINES DAY, SUPER SOUP

Hi everyone!

I have finally made it over here to the computer to update my blog! This was not easy.

Things have really progressed for my family this month. We have found out when we will be moving, so we are very busy looking at listings for houses, packing, arranging for movers etc. On top of all this, we are busy with school, and business maters!

When things get like this, I long to RUN! It feels good to burn off some steam!

Yesterday my husband and I went to the beach and ran sprints! I SLEPT PRETTY HARD LAST NIGHT! It was exhausting!

I highly recommend that you try it sometime! The sand creates resistance, so it causes you to work much harder! Swimsuit season is right around the corner, so head to the beach, and run some sprints! You will have that beach booty in no time!!

Here are some articles about how to run sprints!

They are THE BEST! You will get fantastic legs, a nice butt, and SHED FAT!

A HEALTHY VALENTINES DAY

This year, on “loves own day” treat yourself and your sweetie to a healthy heart!

Instead of eating scads of fatty, heavy food, opt for healthier fare!

Try having a strawberry spinach salad, in which you cut your strawberries length wise, so they look like little hearts!

How about some grilled chicken with red bell peppers cut into the shapes of hearts!

Top it off with a low calorie dark chocolate dessert!

You could even serve our Valentines Day chocolate pancakes! Just go to the recipe section here for the recipe!

After you have your meal, go on a romantic bike ride, hike or walk to a beautiful spot! Celebrate a healthy heart, and long life. Show your mate that you care, by choosing a healthy lifestyle.

A SUPER SOUP!!!

OK…here is a new discovery of mine! This recipe is REALLY GOOD TASTING! And good for you!

Get moving to catch some ZZZZZZ's

Hi everyone!

Did you know that exercise promotes sound sleep?

If you are having troubles sleeping, then perhaps you should get that body moving!

Combining strength training, cardio, and stretching, makes for a sound sleep at night.

Working out stimulates growth hormone...you know...that stuff you have abundant amounts of when you are young! Wink

Think back to when you were a teen...did you have problems sleeping? probably not!

regular work outs can make it so you sleep like a teenager again!

and PS- they make you just as spunky too!! HE HE HE! Tongue out

If you have any questions, suggestions , or requests, Just write to me!
